Education:
After graduating from medical school and completing my residency in psychiatry, I worked as a psychopharmacologist with a population affected by drug addiction.
In my next professional position as a psychiatrist at the Belarus Republic Psychiatric Hospital, my appreciation for the doctor-patient relationship deepened, and I soon realized that the relationship between the two has a more substantial curing effect than just medications.
During my next stop at the Medical University’s department of psychiatry, I conducted my doctoral research — the effect of genetics and environmental factors on the development of psychotic symptomatology. Motivated by the findings, I began my training in psychotherapy.
For ten years prior to my arrival to the US, I held scientific and clinical positions in psychiatry at the Medical University, taught and consulted at inpatient and outpatient psychiatric departments in Minsk, taught physicians and psychologists, provided mental health support to the United Nations chapter in Belarus. I also maintained a busy private practice, published internationally, and participated in various national and international psychiatric and psychoanalytic conferences.
My psychiatric background, continuing immersion in psychotherapy, and immigration to the United States advance my appreciation for the interaction between the individual and their environment.
I provide individual therapy for teens, adults, and seniors experiencing an array of mood and anxiety difficulties, going through life transitions, and struggling with acute or chronic physical and mental conditions.
