Counsellor in Training
Languages: English, Russian
I am currently pursuing New Jersey state licensure in Clinical Mental Health Counseling while offering therapy to children, adolescents, and adults under supervision. My academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in Cytology from the University of Connecticut, and I am on the verge of completing my graduate studies at Montclair State University.
My passion for helping people stems from over two decades of extensive experience working in healthcare and volunteering for Valley Chabad in Woodcliff Lake. It has given me a unique opportunity to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds and walks of life, broadening my understanding of human nature and deepening my desire to serve those in need.
I was born in the former Soviet Union and immigrated to the United States as a teen, feeling vulnerable and isolated and facing significant challenges in adapting to the new life. However, with unwavering support and guidance from my loved ones and mentors, I gradually took steps toward building a productive and satisfying life.
I firmly believe that it’s never too late to chase after your dreams, discover new passions, or embark on a new career path. My own journey involved returning to graduate school to pursue further educational opportunities and help those struggling with emotional, psychological, and mental health issues. In my quest to find mindfulness, I fell in love with the Argentine tango, and as I delved deeper into this dance, I began to see the fascinating similarities between dance and therapy. What could the two have in common? Connecting with people, learning to build trust, and being present in the moment is a common denominator.
In therapy, I will meet you where you are and help you navigate your unique challenges toward a more fulfilling future.
